Reading 12 - Doing

So, we finally launched our book!

To be quite honest, i'm so glad its over I felt like I was back in secondary school again doing all the writing and researching.. that part just wasn’t my favourite.

At the start of doing the book I found it really interesting finding out all the facts and articles about my chosen topic, at the same time it was quite difficult to find enough research as it was all more or less the same but in the end I got there and tried getting as much information as possible for my part of the chapter.

I was never the best with writing in school and that’s when I was doing it all the time and for this module we had to do some of it and I felt like I was gone back in time, which I found kind of difficult because I was so rusty but getting feedback off all my other peers really helped me in that sense.

Looking at the book now and flicking through the chapter, its so cool to see how far we all have come as a group and how great the book looks! The visuals really add to it and give it such a great touch.

Finishing this module with a smile on my face and hopefully never have to do any sort of writing like that for long time!

Reading 10 - Doing

So nearly coming to the end of semester 2, that just flew by!!

Now, back to reality for the next couple of weeks…

For this weeks task we did the "Check your understanding" , bibliographies and author bio for our part in the book,  we were also assigned to create two digital resources which could have been, animated/ static photos , audio or even video but it had to support our own work.

As I was brainstorming what ideas could come to mind, firstly I decided I wanted to do a static image in which supported my chosen subject.

The image here was made on Canva with using free images, tools and elements to help support my work that I have done from the previous weeks.

 

 

For my second illustration I then decided to do an animated image/ GIF since Canva had the elements to do so, then within this animated image/ GIF I used half an image to display elderly working out and then the other half to show the home gaming console as that is what my information is about in the book.

I found doing these animated graphics really entertaining and I think when we all have our own ones done and put into the book it will really work well together and be aesthetically pleasing to view.

Reading 09

 This week we got feedback off our peers. 

Feedback is such a good way to reflect on your work and get other opinions from other which improves in your writing where you cant see.

Its important to always have a growth mindset when looking back at feedback! Don’t get disheartened, the criticism will benefit you in the long run always take it on board and see how you can improve, its always a positive!

From reading other peoples work, you can see how far everyone has come with all their information and facts. The google slide is already nearly filled up whenever I try to go onto the page and scroll down its always lagging trying to load all the content

Unity Tutorial 07

 

 

So, this week was our last week of unity tutorials and Ruby’s adventure which I’m absolutely Delighted with!!!

For our last week’s tutorial, we just focused on running and distributing the game and the audio of it too.

So firstly, we learned about the 2D sounds and 3D sounds, so for the 2D sounds the volume basically just stays the same and on the same level but with the 3D sound it can vary, and you can change it depending on like when your camera is situated in your game.

Lastly then we made it easy and accessible to send our game in a built folder to send it over to our friends to play... which was simple enough.

The game actually is not too bad which is surprising it all works well together and runs great so I’m happy, I’m just delighted to be over with unity this semester, I find it so stressful.😂

Reading 07

 For this weeks reading task , we had to give 2 other peers that we were assigned to feedback on there work for the annotated bibliographies. 

This feedback had to be critical so we could add the options/ change up our work the slightest to make it that bit better 

I had given positive feedback to my two peers which also gave me an insight on what looks good etc. 

Once I received my feedback I tried to implement it into my own work

I found that getting feedback off my peers was very beneficial as it made me look at the bigger picture to what other people could see that I couldn't!  It really did help and work in my opinion, I feel like we should do this more often so each student may feel more on track by getting advice off other peers
